September 2008 saw me return to Northfield as part of a tour of Druids Heath and Maypole. Whilst in the area, I was delighted to reacquaint myself with the Great Stone pub. The building still looks very handsome and charming, and this time around I actually tracked down the old village pound next door - a fascinating glimpse of old Birmingham.
